SSH and signing keys

Add SSH keys to push and pull over SSH, and to sign your commits.

For agents: this page as Markdown

Add a public key under Settings → Account → SSH and signing keys, and choose what it is for:

  • Authentication: push and pull over SSH, as git@git.lorx.space:you/app.git.
  • Signing: commits signed with it show as verified.
  • Both.

Adding a key that can push asks for your password. Paste only the public key (the .pub file): Lorx refuses a private key and stores nothing.

bit auth login offers ~/.ssh/id_ed25519.pub as a signing key when it signs you in (--signing-key picks another, --no-signing-key skips it).
