# SSH and signing keys

Add SSH keys to push and pull over SSH, and to sign your commits.

Add a public key under **Settings → Account → SSH and signing keys**, and choose what it is for:

- **Authentication**: push and pull over SSH, as `git@git.lorx.space:you/app.git`.
- **Signing**: commits signed with it show as verified.
- **Both**.

Adding a key that can push asks for your password. Paste only the public key (the `.pub` file): Lorx refuses a private key and stores nothing.

`bit auth login` offers `~/.ssh/id_ed25519.pub` as a signing key when it signs you in (`--signing-key` picks another, `--no-signing-key` skips it).
