# Move from GitHub

Bring a repository's history, branches and tags to Lorx, and its pull requests with their comments and reviews.

## Bring the code

Create an empty repository on Lorx first (in the web, or `bit repo create app`), then:

```sh
git clone --bare https://github.com/you/app.git
cd app.git
git push --mirror https://git.lorx.space/you/app.git
```

Use `--bare`, not `--mirror`, for the clone. A mirror clone also fetches GitHub's `refs/pull/*`, which Lorx refuses, so the push would fail.

## Bring the pull requests

```sh
bit import github you/app
```

This brings every pull request over as a change request with the same number, with its commits, comments and reviews. It reads GitHub with `GITHUB_TOKEN`, or with `gh auth token` if the GitHub CLI is signed in. That token is only ever sent to GitHub, never to Lorx.

- Run it again at any time: it adds only what's new.
- `--to owner/name` imports into a differently named repository on Lorx.
