# Create a repository and push

Make a repository on Lorx from your terminal or the web, push your code, and clone it elsewhere.

## From your terminal

Inside an existing git checkout:

```sh
bit repo create app --push
```

This creates `app` under your account, adds it to the checkout as the remote `lorx`, and pushes every branch and tag. Repositories are private unless you pass `--public`.

| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| `--public` / `--private` | Who can see it (private is the default) |
| `-d, --description` | A one-line description |
| `--source <dir>` | The checkout to connect (the current directory by default) |
| `--remote <name>` | The remote to add or repoint (`lorx` by default) |
| `--push` | Push every branch and tag once created |

## From the web

Choose **New repository** in the dashboard, then add it as a remote and push:

```sh
git remote add lorx https://git.lorx.space/you/app.git
git push -u lorx main
```

## Clone a repository

```sh
bit clone you/app
```

`bit clone` takes `owner/name` and runs `git clone` with the right URL. Plain git works the same way:

```sh
git clone https://git.lorx.space/you/app.git
```

## List repositories

```sh
bit repo list           # yours
bit repo list someone   # someone else's public ones
```
