# Connect over HTTPS or SSH

Push and pull with git over HTTPS with a token, or over SSH with a key.

Every repository has two URLs:

| | URL |
|---|---|
| HTTPS | `https://git.lorx.space/you/app.git` |
| SSH | `git@git.lorx.space:you/app.git` |

## HTTPS

After `bit auth login`, git uses bit as its credential helper for Lorx, and nothing more is needed.

Without bit, or on a machine with no keychain (a container, a CI job), use a personal access token as the password. Make one under **Settings → Account → Access tokens**. Any username works:

```sh
git clone https://x:$LORX_TOKEN@git.lorx.space/you/app.git
```

Keep tokens out of shell history and logs: read them from an environment variable or a secret store. See [Access tokens](/docs/account/tokens) for what a token can do.

## SSH

Add your public key under **Settings → Account → SSH and signing keys**, marked for pushing (authentication), then:

```sh
git clone git@git.lorx.space:you/app.git
```

The same key can also sign your commits: mark it for signing, or for both. `bit auth login` offers to add `~/.ssh/id_ed25519.pub` as a signing key when it signs you in.
